Founder, Briefly (NEXTGEN AI L.L.C.)

John Rice builds and operates the scan engine behind Briefly, which runs client-style lawyer-hiring questions across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode on a recurring schedule and stores every answer it collects. He is not a lawyer; he measures what AI assistants say, with receipts.

John's writing here comes from operating that system: designing the question sets, reading the raw answers the assistants return, and building the classification rules that turn those answers into metrics like Case Recommendation Share. He does not claim legal-marketing agency experience or legal credentials, and nothing he publishes ranks, rates, or endorses attorneys.

How the scans work — assistants covered, repetition, what gets stored, and the known limitations — is documented on the methodology page. How content on this site is drafted, reviewed, and corrected is covered by the editorial policy. For the company behind the product, see about.
